15 years ago, Chris Dixon famously shared,

“The next big thing will start out looking like a toy.”

This comment rings true today.

Google’s DeepMind Dreamer AI became the first model to collect diamonds in Minecraft without human guidance.

This is big.

Collecting diamonds is not easy. It requires complex reasoning, such as crafting tools, navigating underground terrain, avoiding hazards and completing multiple steps.

Dreamer’s ability to accomplish this feat without human guidance demonstrates a significant advancement in AI’s capacity to learn, adapt and generalize knowledge. These skills are essential and will transfer to real-world applications.

Remember – the next big thing will start out looking like a toy.

The Fastest Growing Technology of All-Time

Earlier this week, I shared a post titled – AI Is The Fastest Growing Tech Of All Time.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT grew its monthly revenue by 30% YoY. This exponential growth should not be overlooked.

I align with William O’Neil’s CAN SLIM model when investing in public markets. Here’s a simple overview of the acronym —

Market Direction

O’Neil requires Current Quarterly Earnings and Annual Earnings Growth of at least 25% YoY when picking stocks.

Folks – OpenAI’s ChatGPT 30% YoY monthly revenue growth falls within O’Neil’s investing philosophy. I’m not saying drop everything and invest in OpenAI.

But…

We should be aware of the exponential growth that’s taking place.

Not only is AI the fastest growing technology in human history – it’s not going away. The genie is out of the bottle. We’re on the cusp of something great.

From Concept To Flight In Just 11 Months

CycloTech – an Austrian-based aviation innovator is moving at Godspeed!

The company’s BlackBird demonstrator, powered by 6 CycloRotors, successfully completed its maiden flight in just 11 months after conceptualization.

CycloTech hopes to revolutionize aviation propulsion technology, leveraging the Voith-Scheider principle. This idea integrates steering and thrust generation into a single unit offering 360° thrust vectoring. Meaning – thrust can be directed instantly in any horizontal direction without changing rotor speed.

IShowSpeed’s Flying Car Experience

American YouTuber IShowSpeed is touring China, showcasing the country’s latest and greatest innovations.

Here’s a quick clip of Speed’s live stream as he flies in EHang’s autonomous eVTOL. His reaction is electric. It’s must-see entertainment.

Racing Robots

China will host the world’s first robot half-marathon in Beijing on April 13th. The event is designed to showcase speed, agility and stamina – pushing robots to their limit.

Robot racers must be bipedal humanoids, operating either through remote control or fully autonomously.

Archer Makes Its Runway Debut

On Thursday, Archer Aviation made its runway debut at the San Francisco International Airport.

The company showcased its Midnight eVTOL and shared its vision to build an air taxi network in California within the next 2 years.

We all know traffic in California is a mess. Archer’s Chief Commercial Officer Nikhil Goel shared the money quote,

“Today, we waste so many of our hours stuck in a car. We want to give people their time back.”

All eyes are still on Dubai as the company plans to launch operations in the UAE sometime this year.

SchoolAI Secures $25M

SchoolAI – a Utah-based AI education platform, raised $25M in Series A funding as it seeks to assist schools around the globe.

Launched in August 2023, the platform is now integrated in more than 1M classrooms across all 50 states and 80 countries worldwide.

SchoolAI is not an education alternative – rather, it enhances the teacher’s existing curriculum.

The Series A round was led by Insight Partners with participation from NewView Ventures, The General Partnership and Person Ventures. Total funding to date is $32M.
