EHang Receives Authorization To Launch Autonomous Operations
Good morning. Happy Monday – we have fresh aviation news from the Far East!
Chinese eVTOL developer, EHang, announced that it received Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).
These certificates enable EHang to operate autonomous commercial passenger-carrying flights in Guangzhou and Hefei. The company will focus initially on low-altitude tourism and urban sightseeing within these Chinese cities.
Ehang failed to confirm a specific start date, but flights are expected to begin soon.
*fingers crossed*
We’re disappointed no launch date was provided – but receiving certification for advanced air mobility is a major milestone in global aviation!
Here’s a quick clip of EHang showcasing its first EH216-S pilotless flight in Downtown Shanghai. (January 2025)
Price Is Truth
If we put the news aside and focus on price – China has exhibited signs of life.
