Find Exercise You Enjoy
If you can find an exercise that you enjoy, you will feel great, you will stay healthy longer, and you will have fun doing it.
Maybe it was something you used to do when you were younger but then it got away from you as you got busy with adult things or maybe it is something completely new that you always wanted to try like golf or tennis or pickleball.
You don’t have to go crazy like you are training for the Olympics, just get out there and do it and enjoy it and then get out there and do it again.
Don’t worry about what experts say about proper form or how to optimize or regiments.
Just have fun with it.
Then, with time, maybe you learn a little more about what you are doing and you get a little better at it and it becomes your thing.
It can be anything.
Hiking or running or walking or rowing or swimming or biking or volleyball or climbing or hockey or paddle boarding or yoga or tai kwon do.
For me, it’s running.
There’s other stuff I do, and I’m not even that good at it, but I love to get out there for an hour or more and just run.
I get away from the screens and my calendar and I see places and perspectives I don’t usually see and I think about stuff like the idea for this exact post you are reading right now!
And then, I finish and I’m schvitzed and I feel like a million bucks for the rest of the day.
Glowing and equanimous.
