Hello From Italy – Prosecco Is Perfecto

Good morning to everyone…afternoon for me.

I am spending the week cycling with my good friends in Prosecco Italy. Prosecco is a beautiful region with of course incredible wine from the Prosecco grape.

Our trips are always planned by Biko Adventures operated by my pal Filippo…

My friend Ali Benham started this group with Mike Dean (he could not make it this year – we miss Mike but are also relentlessly ridiculing him behind his back) seven years ago when they were fat and out of shape. Today they are fit as hell. Here is Ali and I today:

Mike invited me five years back and now twice a year a group of 7-8 of us do these adventure cycling trips to ride the most famous and grueling rides in Europe. Our trips are a short version of summer camp for old farts who like eat, laugh and suffer.

I have never been to the Prosecco region. It is spectacular if you like cycling and food. The mountains are steep, the roads quiet and the food is ridiculously good, especially with curation by Filippo. The villa Filippo organized for our group this year is stunning:

Today we hit he gravel roads to soak up the scenery of the region…

Tomorrow we hit the famous Monte Grappa climb which will be an intense day of climbing.

Have a good day.
