The Best Masters Ever

Good afternoon…

As I have been preaching here, despite my lack of interest in playing the game the last few years, the golf boom is accelerating.

I will chime in below my two favorite videos post Masters on the Masters

  1. Justin Rose interview…every athlete, entrepreneur should watch and every parent should make their child watch:

  1. Rich Eisen with a great roundup of what it felt like as a fan of sports, the game of golf and The Masters:

I am not looking for an argument but it was the best, most fun, most dramatic, most entertaining, best dressed, best technologied, best produced, most gambled, best weather, best fan enjoyment (no smartphones), best couch weekend Masters ever.

Even Ellen was watching some of it with me.

My son and I are all in on the golf world. I mean he is all in, Ellen, Rachel and I are supportive and we have put our money where our mouth and Max’s time is.

Technology, athleticism, fitness, fashion, culture, global reach, money, entertainment, form factors, access, coaching/teaching, media are all converging to make golf the glamor game.

The game has never been harder and/or looked easier when played at the professional level.

The game is exploding because of all the above.

Our firm Social Leverage is an investor in the Grass League (Grass Clippings) and the third $100,000 par 3 NBC broadcasted, under the lights, best player wins scramble tournament is coming up may 3rd in Phoenix at our home course (owned by Grass Clippings). If you are in the Phoenix area hit me up for tickets.

Last Friday night, Tom, Ethan (our GM and my Chief of Staff) Kordell and I took our eight players from our team The Hat Tricks for a practice/money game.

All our players are + 5 or better handicaps. There are thousands of players of this caliber around the United States who dream of hitting shots like Rory did yesterday into 15 and do hit shots like Rory did yesterday (wedge on 13 into the water), but would never be able to make it on tour. It is so fun to play with golfers of this caliber up close. Ten under won it.

I have yet to make it to The Masters but its back on my bucket list after this week to do with Max, Rachel and friends. And I have to play it just once. Hit me up if you can make it happen 🙂 .
