Tim Lum's *Aerial* Commute

Tim Lum's *Aerial* Commute

Hi folks,

As I’ve cited in prior posts, we’re moving from the Innovators to the Early Adopters stage within the Innovation S-Curve.

Today, I’d like to introduce you to an innovator who commutes via an electrical vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL).

Meet Tim Lum

Tim Lum lives remote.

The retired Air Force pararescueman enjoys his solitude atop the mountains amidst Washington’s North Cascades.

Last month, Kirsten Dirksen met Lum to learn how he welcomes the innovation in aviation.

It’s a quick 24-minute clip that I hope inspires your curiosity. See timestamps below.

More About BlackFly Helix

BlackFly, now branded as the Pivotal Helix, is a personal eVTOL that does not require a pilot’s license.

The Helix has a 20ish mile range with a 63-mph cruising speed and charges in less than an 90 minutes using a Level 2 EV charger (240V).

Although the FAA doesn’t require a pilot’s license to operate the aircraft, Pivotal provides a list of its own requirements.

Based on this list – Perplexity suggests 7.2M Americans are eligible TODAY to pilot the aircraft.

If you’re feeling frisky and eager to innovate, Pivotal is accepting pre-orders estimated to ship this Spring.

$190,000 is the entry fee.
