1968 Redux?

All these kids on college campuses now engaging in pro Palestinian sit-ins. Exercising their first amendment rights. You know where they will be this summer, right? When there is no school in session. That’s right, the Republican convention in Milwaukee in July and then the Democratic convention in Chicago in August. 

Here’s a prediction I hope that I’m wrong about. There will likely be violence at these conventions. The people are angry, both parties have horrible candidates, inflation is running out of control, the economy isn’t working for most Americans, the rich and powerful continue grow in wealth leaving the 99% behind, the funding of wars overseas is growing while folks at home are starving, and the list of gripes against the government and ruling class is long and growing.

This is likely going to be the equivalent of our Arab Spring.

A bloody American Summer. Like we saw in 1968 in…Chicago. 

History rhymes. I hope I’m wrong. I’m fearful I’ll be right.
