🧠 Genius Group Forced Into Bitcoin Fire Sale by Court Ruling
AI-education company Genius Group had to offload Bitcoin holdings after a bizarre US court order banned it from raising funds or holding BTC, slashing its market cap by 53%. CEO Roger Hamilton was shocked—apparently unaware that US courts can and will nuke your crypto dreams faster than an SEC subpoena. CryptoBriefing.
🤔 Jack Dorsey Calls Out Google CEO After Bitcoin Mailing List Gets Nuked
$GOOG ( ▼ 3.92% ) abruptly shut down a popular Bitcoin developer mailing list, claiming “policy violations,” prompting Jack Dorsey to publicly grill CEO Sundar Pichai on X. Sure, Google reinstated it hours later, but centralized Big Tech randomly nuking crypto communities? Totally not suspicious at all. TheStreet.
🤝 Trump-Bukele White House Meeting Sets Off Bitcoin Hype Train
Donald Trump invited El Salvador’s Bitcoin-friendly President Nayib Bukele to the White House, triggering speculation about potential crypto talks. Both leaders have a history of backing Bitcoin, and El Salvador’s legal-tender experiment might soon have a US counterpart with Trump’s proposed Bitcoin Reserve. CryptoSlate.
🏛️ Senate Banking Committee Moves Forward with Pro-Crypto SEC Chair Nominee
The Senate Banking Committee just advanced Trump’s pick, Paul Atkins, to chair the SEC, setting the stage for a crypto-friendly regulatory shift. TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
This Is How Beaten Down The Altcoin Market Is 😵
Every Saturday, I publish the Crypto Weekend Data Dive—a concise breakdown of 12 proprietary cryptocurrency indices, tracking their weekly performance alongside 13-week and 21-day Relative Rotation Graphs. 📉
Instead of the typical Monday-to-Sunday timeframe, my indices use a Thursday-to-Thursday measurement period. This adjustment provides a smoother, more balanced reflection of market movements, minimizing disruptions from weekend volatility. Given the crypto market operates 24/7 and increasingly responds to traditional economic indicators (employment data, inflation reports, etc.), this slightly longer period captures a clearer market snapshot.
And before you fire off that email: yes, I’m fully aware that Thursday-to-Thursday technically exceeds a week—that’s exactly the idea. 🧠
It’s Ugly Out There 💩
While updating the weekly indices performance, I observed that almost all of the indices are in a bad place. Like, a very, very bad place. In fact, with the exception of the Proof-of-Work Index and the Top 25 Index, the other 10 indices are sitting at lows of 12 months or worse.
Stocktwits AI Index
Here’s another dismal piece of data for almost all the indices: the current swing lower is worse than the one prior.
The current dive south from December 2024 is both deeper and the push lower is 31% faster.
Stocktwits Lending Index
Just like the AI index, the Lending index’s current push south is lower and 32% faster.
Stocktwits Metaverse Index
Insult to injury: new all-time lows for the Metaverse Index.
So, ya, it’s brutal out there. ⚔️
