Making a Simple Plan for 2025
Mid-November, I like to think about my priorities for the next year and distill them down into a few simple themes.
Doing this helps me focus on the important things so I can make them happen.
Sometimes, this takes a lot of thought and strategizing, time well spent, but this year it came in about one minute early this morning. I said it out loud and it was done.
I put it on a flash card and taped it to my desk above the keyboard.
1. I’m going to run a lot and I am going to run fast. I say this almost every year and some years I do better than others. I’m going to run a 6:30 mile and a 24 minute 5K. I am going to do this by running fast often, building explosiveness starting this winter doing plyometrics with my son, and supplementing with rowing on the Concept 2.
2. I am going to eat clean af. Lots of animal protein, lots of hard boiled eggs, very low carbohydrates, zero alcohol, and approaching zero highly processed garbage. I’m locked in & it remains a high priority. I find everything flows outward from what I put into the only body I am ever issued.
3. This is my nature and my business. I have reached a place in my own life where I can help others get healthy, live better, make better decisions, and find wisdom. This is my chief endeavor, this is my passion play.
