My Podcast Interview with the Bitcoin Layer
This morning I was live this morning with @timevalueofbtc from the Bitcoin Layer podcast discussing my IWM short thesis which I recommended a couple weeks ago so yes, I am losing money on it and no, I have not changed my mind.
This idea should play out over the next couple of months as the economy continues to slow but the Fed is unable to react to the slowdown with more stimulus because inflation continues to run too much above target. Higher for longer is the death knell for highly geared small caps that have tremendous cost pressures and limited pricing power which leads to an adverse environment for earnings growth momentum.
I also had some pretty choice words for Chair Powell aka “gaslighter / enabler” in Chief who seems unwilling to actually finish the job of bringing inflation down because of fears about how higher interest expenses are a problem for the US govt deficits. As always, Nik asks great questions and we had a good discussion. Let me know what you think.
