The market ripped on Monday after the U.S. announced a 90-day pause to the most extreme tariffs on China. The two nations cut back their massive tariffs of 145% and 125% to just 30% and 10%, which is higher than ever but way more friendly to investor ears.
Even with a pause, Secretary Besent and President Trump have said there will be more trade talks going forward, to eliminate nontariff barriers to trade. You have to admit the strategy worked great for making 30% tariffs look like nothing. The White House posted, it was the art of the deal.
