Big Tech Earnings Preview

Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, and Apple all report earnings over the next 48 hours. Together, they represent more than $10 trillion in market cap and their results will shape the narrative for the AI investment cycle heading into 2026.
Here’s what I’m watching:
1. Revenue Growth
The digital transformation remains intact, but will Big Tech sustain double-digit top-line gains? Watch for signs of softening demand in consumer and enterprise segments, especially in cloud and devices.
2. EPS Growth
Margins are under the microscope. Investors want to see operational leverage, strong earnings fueled by AI-driven efficiencies. But massive CapEx spending may start to weigh.
3. AI CapEx
The big number: Over $250B in planned AI and data center investment in 2025 across these four companies. Any upward revisions (as Google offered last week) signal confidence in long-term AI monetization.

4. Forward Guidance
This is the tell. Are executives guiding for continued growth and accelerated investment, or showing signs of caution? The second half of 2025 will set the tone for AI’s next leg.
5. Can Apple Surprise?
Apple has lagged in the AI arms race. The company has failed to shock and awe. Are we in for a surprise? Time will tell…
Bottom Line
This week’s results offer more than just a look at quarterly fundamentals. It provides insight into how each company is balancing near-term performance with long-term AI investment.
But what matters most isn’t just the numbers — it’s the market’s reaction. Price action in the days that follow will reveal how investors are repricing risk, conviction, and leadership in the next phase of the AI wave.
