TECHNICAL ANALYSIS
Last Week’s Crypto Fireworks Weren’t Duds, Just A Long Fuse 🎆

Let’s take a look at some charts and see what we’ve looked at already, and some new ones, as well.

XRP

We looked at XRP’s weekly chart last Thursday (July 3, 2025).

July 3, 2025 XRPUSD Weekly Chart – Click to enlarge.

XRP has clocked a +24% burst since last Friday, tagging $2.97 intraday and finally blasting above both the Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen.

The breakout shopping list we were looking at was:

Last Week’s Breakout Shopping List

  • Weekly candle ≥ $2.52 – clears both Tenkan and Kijun in one shot.

  • Composite Index > slow MA – confirms momentum isn’t a mirage.

  • DPO > 0 – the loudest starter pistol on the chart.

XRPUSD Weekly Chart – Click to enlarge.

Momentum boxes you laid out last week? All checked. Composite Index sailed over the slow MA, DPO flipped positive, and price is still lounging well above the Cloud, which keeps the long-range bias bullish.

Bitcoin

July 7, 2025 BTCUSD Daily Chart – Click to enlarge.

Bitcoin ignored my “twitchy” side-eye concerns and banged out a fresh ATH.

The Chikou Span cleared last week’s bodies, Tenkan-Sen and Kijun-Sen now sit underneath like launch pads, and both the Composite Index and DPO bounced off danger zones to reclaim bullish terrain.

Ethereum

July 7, 2024 BTCUSD Daily Chart – Click to enlarge.

Ethereum finally crawled out of the Cloud, slapped $3k, and checked every box on the Ideal Bullish Ichimoku Breakout list from Monday.

ETHUSD Daily Chart – Click to enlarge.

Price is above the Tenkan-Sen, Kijun-Sen, and the Cloud; Chikou Span’s hanging in blue sky, so nothing to smash into for the next dozen candles.

Sui

SUIUSD Daily Chart – Click to enlarge.

Sui, and the following daily charts, all show something in common: the Cloud is acting as near-term resistance.

Band Protocol

In a nutshell: a good chunk of the crpyto market is still trying to breakout. Let’s see kind of weekend shenanigans occur.🧠

STOCKTWITS RETAIL RADAR
Retail Bets Against Small-Caps After Big Run ($IWM) 🛑

After a record-breaking three-month run in U.S. equities, Stocktwits Sentiment suggests one index in particular might be due for a pullback. Let’s take a look at the Russell 2000 small-cap index.

First, Stocktwits Sentiment for the small-cap ETF $IWM has been steadily rising alongside prices since April. However, in mid-June, sentiment peaked, and during the rally last week, it signaled a divergence after failing to reach new highs. Now, sentiment has pushed firmly into ‘Bearish’ territory, suggesting retail is expecting a pullback after this record run. ⚠️

Source: Stocktwits

When combining this with the technicals, we see prices of Russell 2000 futures reaching a key area of support/resistance near 2,300. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) is also signaling a divergence, and today’s price action erased this week’s gains. 🧐

Source: TradingView

With prices rallying a record 34% in three months, approaching a clear resistance area, and seeing momentum and Stocktwits sentiment diverging… retail investors are becoming more cautious at current levels. With earnings season kicking off next week, bulls are booking some gains and seeing how this index reacts in the days ahead.

NEWS
Crypto Week Is Next Week 📆

Crypto Week. That’s what House leadership is calling July 14-18. The name sticks because they’re dragging three digital-asset bills onto the floor and the stakes make Sen. Warren and every other crypto hater sweat. 🧐

What’s On The Docket

  • GENIUS Act – stablecoin free-for-all
Lets private outfits issue dollar-backed tokens if they keep 1-to-1 cash in the kitty. Walmart and Amazon already eyeballing swipe-fee savings, Visa and Mastercard probably screaming into pillows.

  • CLARITY Act – referee assignment
Decides who polices what: SEC, CFTC, token launches, decentralization tests, the whole alphabet soup. Coinbase bankrolls a six-figure ad blitz begging Congress to just pick a lane.

  • Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act – stop the digital panopticon
Bars the Fed from rolling out a government wallet that tracks every latte. Privacy hawks love it. Bureaucrats hate it.

Numbers That Matter

  • Senate blessed GENIUS last month 68-30.

  • House passage hands it to President Trump, who owns a slice of USD1 stablecoins via World Liberty Financial and brags it will make America the “UNDISPUTED Leader.”

  • 50 million Americans hold crypto. Stand With Crypto’s grassroots army fired off 70k emails to Senators in the last vote.

  • Bitcoin ripped from $110k this week – nothing lights a fire under lawmakers like a parabolic chart.

Why The Rush

Mid-summer recess looms. Miss the window and these bills go back into the blender once election season kicks in. Lobby groups know it. Coinbase, Ripple, and 65-plus advocacy orgs sent a joint letter: pass CLARITY or keep drowning in court cases.

Winners & whiners

  • Retail giants – issue branded bucks, dodge card fees, loop shoppers inside walled gardens.

  • Bank lobby – panicking that “checking accounts” start living on chain.

  • Regulators – risk losing or shifting turf.

  • Privacy crowd – cheering the Anti-CBDC bill like it’s the fourth of July.

  • Maxis – shrugging because Bitcoin doesn’t need a permission slip anyway.

The Vibe On The Hill

Bipartisan momentum looks real, at least until campaign mud-slinging nukes the mood. Republican leadership wants a win before recess. Democrats see voter math: millions of crypto holders in swing states. Everyone wants to look “innovation-friendly” without getting roasted for another FTX-level face-plant.

Next week decides whether Congress finally writes some ground rules or punts yet again. If GENIUS and CLARITY clear the House, Trump’s pen makes stablecoins legit and hands the crypto market its most bullish policy backdrop ever. 🍕
